Gillingham beat Bristol Rovers 3-0 at Priestfield in League Two, James Brophy breaking the deadlock in the 54th minute before substitute Sheldon Kendall struck twice in the last 10 minutes, in the 84th and 88th.

Rovers had started the brighter side, but Gillingham grew into the game, forced a fine save from Brad Young and then turned a tight contest into a comfortable win in the closing stages.

Rovers Start Quickly, Gillingham Settle

The visitors had the better of the opening exchanges, with chances for Bobby Kamwa and Shaq Forde that both missed the target. Gillingham slowly found their feet and should have led when Harry Waldock's cross found Ronan Hale, whose right-footed drive was turned aside by a brilliant save from Brad Young.
