Gillingham beat Tranmere Rovers 2-0 at Priestfield in League Two, Logan Dobbs scoring his first senior league goal in the 67th minute and Ronan Hale adding a second in the 79th. The result gave Gillingham back-to-back victories.
Dobbs, the defender, was left unmarked at the back post and headed in Hale's cross from close range. Hale then pounced on a defensive error and applied the final touch to put the points beyond doubt.
Chances at Both Ends Before the Break
Both sides had openings early on. Nick Freeman was denied by Luke McGee, and Dylan Jones had a shot cleared off the line. Just after the half-hour mark, Nathan Smith met a Tom Ince corner with a header that Ollie Wright gathered.
