Chelsea were given an almighty scare by League One Lincoln City before two goals in two second-half minutes turned the Carabao Cup third-round tie on its head and sent the holders into the last 16 with a 2-1 win at Sincil Bank.
Rob Street had given the Imps a deserved lead on the stroke of half-time after a costly Enzo Fernandez error, but teenager Tyrique George levelled three minutes after the restart and set up Facundo Buonanotte for the 50th-minute winner to spare Enzo Maresca's much-changed side.
Imps Bully the World Champions
Lincoln, third in League One and unbeaten in 11 of their previous 12 games in all competitions, signalled their intent from the kick-off. Chelsea fan Freddie Draper teed up an up-and-under with his first touch to force a long throw, and from the second delivery hurled in by Tom Hamer, Lewis Montsma cracked a near-perfect strike against the post inside 76 seconds.
