Fraser's Late Strike Earns Reading Rare Win Over Leyton Orient

· Match Report

Reading clinched only their second League One victory of the season when they edged past Leyton Orient 2-1 at the SCL Stadium. In-form Jack Marriott gave the Royals a 1-0 half-time lead, Idris El Mizouni levelled for Orient soon after the interval, but Liam Fraser struck the winner 11 minutes from time.

It was Orient who started the stronger, with Jack Moorhouse forcing an agile save from Reading goalkeeper Joel Pereira before the hosts gradually grew into the contest and found a way through on the break.

Marriott Maintains His Hot Streak

Reading broke the deadlock in the 21st minute following a quick break. Charlie Savage set up Marriott, whose half-struck effort on the turn somehow evaded scrambling Orient goalkeeper Tommy Simkin for the striker's third goal in as many games in all competitions.
