Phil Foden scored one goal and set up another as Manchester City battled past League One Huddersfield Town 2-0 to reach the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
Pep Guardiola's much-changed side, in the middle of six games in 18 days across three competitions, needed the spark of their England international to see off a Huddersfield team that struck the post late on through Cameron Ashia and refused to be embarrassed by their illustrious visitors.
Foden Sets The Tone
Foden broke the deadlock on 18 minutes, drilling an unerring finish low into the corner after a quick give-and-go with teenage debutant Divine Mukasa. The 25-year-old was full of confidence, spraying delightful passes around the pitch, and could have doubled his tally but curled a 25-yard free-kick over the crossbar.
