Floyd Samba, 17, scored twice on his senior debut as Manchester City beat Norwich City 5-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday and reached the fourth round of the League Cup, where they will host Brighton.
The academy graduate led the line instead of the rested Erling Haaland, who was not on the bench. He headed City in front in the 28th minute and curled in his second in the 53rd, with Rayan Cherki, Allan and Ryan McAidoo scoring the others. City made 10 changes to their side and Norwich nine.
Samba said afterwards: "I knew there would be an opportunity to get some minutes for the first time with the first team, but to get a debut like that is mind-blowing."
