Ashley Fletcher scored twice as Blackpool maintained their 100% start under Ian Evatt with a 3-1 League One win over promotion-chasing Cardiff City. Fletcher's second-half double made it three goals in two games for the striker, while Tom Bloxham added a late third.
Goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell made several crucial saves to deny Cardiff before Yusuf Salech pulled a goal back deep in stoppage time. The defeat, Cardiff's second successive in League One, dropped them one place to fourth, two points behind leaders Stockport County.
A First Half Crammed With Chances
Blackpool, who appointed Evatt as head coach last month, started full of energy and should have led after three minutes when CJ Hamilton capitalised on poor Cardiff defending but fired into the side netting from the six-yard box. Calum Chambers' poor back header caused further panic before the visitors scrambled clear, and Bloxham's half volley struck the post.
