Fiorentina have signed the Real Madrid winger Franco Mastantuono on a season-long loan, the two clubs confirmed on Friday. The move runs until 30 June 2027, taking the 18-year-old to Serie A to continue his development.
Mastantuono arrived at Real Madrid from River Plate in June 2025 on a six-year deal, having beaten Paris Saint-Germain to his signature. He was one of the most sought-after young talents in world football at the time, having made his senior River Plate debut at 16 and become the youngest player to appear for Argentina's national team.
He found life difficult at the Bernabéu last season, making 35 appearances across LaLiga, the Champions League, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Supercopa, and scoring three goals. His struggles for form saw him left out of Argentina's World Cup squad.
"It's a special day for me," Mastantuono said on Friday. "I was excited about joining the club... It's a team with a lot of history."
