Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Ferran Torres from Barcelona. The Spain forward has signed a contract until 2031, with the fee understood to be around €50m to €55m, and will wear the No 9 shirt in Paris.
"I'm delighted to be beginning a new adventure at such an ambitious club as Paris Saint-Germain," Torres said in a statement. "I'd like to thank President Nasser al-Khelaifi, Luis Campos and coach Luis Enrique for giving me the opportunity to join the team, which I hope to help win as many trophies as possible." Campos is PSG's football adviser.
The 26-year-old made his desire to leave known last week, agreeing personal terms with PSG before Barcelona granted him permission to miss training as the move progressed. He reunites with Luis Enrique, who previously managed him with Spain, and departs with his Barcelona contract due to expire next summer, a point at which the club were already prepared to let him go.
PSG had been searching for a new attacking option after Gonçalo Ramos left for AC Milan and Randal Kolo Muani's loan at Tottenham turned into a permanent move to Juventus. Ousmane Dembélé has often filled in through the middle, but Luis Enrique wanted a recognised addition before the new season. Torres is PSG's second high-profile forward signing of the summer, after Maghnes Akliouche's move from Monaco.
