Exeter City have re-signed wing-back Vincent Harper on a season-long loan from Walsall, a year after he was released by the Devon club.
Harper, a 25-year-old Kenya international, spent two years at St James Park before that departure, scoring three goals in 65 appearances. He then agreed a two-year deal at Walsall, where he made 37 appearances in all competitions last season.
The move came alongside a separate loan arrival, with wing-back Lakyle Samuel joining from Manchester City for the season. Samuel, 20, is an England Under-20 international who spent last season on loan at Bromley as they were promoted from League Two, and is the son of the late former Aston Villa and Bolton player Jlloyd Samuel.
Exeter manager Matt Taylor said Harper's familiarity with the club would count in his favour. "Vinnie is a player who is familiar with our fans and knows the football club really well and some of the current squad from his previous spell with us," Taylor said. "Although he is still young at 25, he will bring experience to the squad of playing in League One and Two. He will provide physicality and quality to the outside of the pitch, and he is an outstanding one v one defender."
