Newcastle United beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 on Saturday evening, with Anthony Elanga and Yoane Wissa scoring within ten minutes of each other in the second half to give Matthias Jaissle his first Premier League win as head coach. Spurs have now played two league games without scoring and sit bottom of the table.
Roberto De Zerbi's side had the better of the first half and finished with 17 shots to Newcastle's 11, six of them on target against the visitors' two. Both of Newcastle's efforts on target went in.
It is the first time Spurs have lost their opening two league games without scoring since the 1974-75 season, and the first home defeat of De Zerbi's reign.
