Liverpool emphatically halted a four-game losing run by fighting back from a goal down to thrash Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 in the Champions League, with Hugo Ekitike scoring against his former club to spark the turnaround.
Arne Slot's side, who had won their first seven matches of the season before the slump, conceded first for the fifth game in a row when Rasmus Kristensen drilled the hosts ahead. From there, however, Liverpool produced an emphatic and sustained response, scoring three times in a 10-minute spell before the break and adding two more after it.
Frankfurt strike first on the counter
Backed by a vocal home crowd, Frankfurt dominated the opening stages and were rewarded when Liverpool were prised apart. Nathaniel Brown dispossessed Florian Wirtz in the left-back position and the hosts played their way through the press, Jean-Mattéo Bahoya feeding Kristensen on the right.
