John Egan's 97th-minute equaliser snatched a 2-2 draw for Hull City at the Swansea.Com Stadium, denying Swansea City a victory they thought they had secured. The hosts twice led through in-form forwards Zan Vipotnik and Ronald, either side of former Swan Oli McBurnie's goal for Hull, but could not withstand a furious late onslaught from the visitors.
The result extends Swansea's unbeaten run in all competitions to six matches but leaves them frustrated, having been ahead deep into added time. Hull, who arrived on the back of defeats to Blackburn and Bristol City, avoided a third successive Championship loss and left South Wales with a point that felt almost as sweet as victory, even as they slipped to 20th in the early-season table, with Swansea remaining seventh.
Vipotnik Strikes Before McBurnie Haunts His Former Club
Swansea began on the front foot, as Alan Sheehan's side quickly established territorial control without immediately carving open clear chances. The first real sight of goal fell to Zan Vipotnik on 15 minutes, but the Slovenia striker could only send a rising effort from distance high over Ivor Pandur's crossbar. Zeidane Inoussa then drifted in from the left and curled another attempt over, as the hosts probed but failed to trouble the Hull goalkeeper.
