Dunk's thunderbolt crowns Brighton's five-star rout of ten-man Coventry

· Match Report

Brighton ran out 5-0 winners at Coventry City, with a thunderbolt from captain Lewis Dunk the pick of goals from Charalampos Kostoulas, Malick Yalcouyé, Pascal Groß and Yasin Ayari. The promoted hosts are still without a point or a goal after four Premier League games.

The contest turned in the space of two minutes after the break. Yalcouyé made it 2-0 in the 50th minute and Taiwo Awoniyi was sent off in the 52nd for an elbow on Maxim De Cuyper, and Brighton went on to add three more.

Only one other side, Crystal Palace in 2017-18, has begun a Premier League season with four straight defeats and no goals scored. Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen was named player of the match, his saves keeping Coventry out when they pressed after the opening spell.
