Drinan's Late Penalty Sinks Bottom Club Harrogate

· Match Report

Aaron Drinan's 23rd goal of the season in all competitions secured a 1-0 victory for Swindon Town at bottom-of-the-table Harrogate Town. The Sulphurites held out until the 84th minute before being condemned to a 20th league game without a win by Drinan's clinical penalty.

The result ended a run of three straight away defeats for Ian Holloway's Robins, who needed patience and a slice of late fortune to break the deadlock at a ground where the home side fought hard to stay in the contest.

An Early Scare at the Wrong End

The closest anyone came to opening the first-half scoring arrived at the wrong end of the pitch. Harrogate defender Cathal Heffernan, the ex-Newcastle reserve, sent a header back towards his own goalkeeper Henry Gray that sailed over the keeper's head.
