Doncaster Rovers collected their first win of the season on Saturday, beating Peterborough United 2-0 in League One, and Peterborough sacked manager Luke Williams after the final whistle.
Alfie May put the visitors ahead after 14 minutes and substitute Isaac Hutchinson sealed the points in the 87th. The defeat left Peterborough 23rd, one point above bottom club Wigan Athletic.
May Punishes a Costly Mistake
Peterborough started the brighter side, and Owura Edwards missed the target with an early header at the back post. Doncaster's opener was against the run of play: Leon Ayinde crossed after a mistake by the Peterborough youngster Harley Mills, and May slotted home.
