Vivaldo Semedo's 90th-minute strike, diverted cruelly past Vladan Kovacevic by a heavy deflection, earned Watford a 1-0 victory over Norwich City after a tight Championship contest at Carrow Road that for so long looked destined to finish goalless.
The substitute forward finished off a brilliant burst down the left from fellow replacement Nestory Irankunda to settle a game of few clear-cut chances. The late winner extended Javi Gracia's side's unbeaten run to six matches, clinched their third successive victory and lifted them into the top six, while ending Norwich's four-game unbeaten sequence and keeping Philippe Clement's team in the relegation zone on a night when a win would have taken them out of the bottom three.

Watford enjoyed the clearer sights of goal in a low-key opening period, even if they rarely found top gear. After just nine minutes Tom Ince was picked out in space by Giorgi Chakvetadze, only to drag a presentable chance wide from a good position when he should at least have tested Kovacevic.
