Cambridge United began life back in League Two with a 1-0 victory over Cheltenham Town, with debutant striker Louis Appere striking the decisive blow.
The hosts dominated the chances across the contest, and after a string of openings went begging they finally found a way through to make a winning start to the campaign.
Chances Come and Go
The first big chance fell to Dom Ball after 15 minutes, but he headed a Sullay Kaikai free-kick wide from a dangerous position. Nine minutes later, debuting Cambridge keeper Jake Eastwood made an important save, pushing away George Miller's shot after the forward had got the better of Kelland Watts.
