Curtis Jones completes £30m move from Liverpool to Inter Milan

· Transfer News

Liverpool have sold Curtis Jones to Inter Milan in a deal worth a fixed £25.7m plus £4.28m in add-ons, taking the total to around £30m, on a five-year contract that ends a 16-year association with a club he joined as a nine-year-old academy player. A 10 per cent sell-on clause is understood to be included, and Jones was entering the final year of his Liverpool contract.

Inter's interest went back months. A January proposal of a loan with a view to a permanent transfer was turned down by Liverpool, as was a follow-up bid of £21.7m in June, before the two clubs settled on a package in line with the £30m fee Inter paid Tottenham for Djed Spence.

He becomes the third England international to join Inter this transfer window, following the earlier arrivals of John Stones and Djed Spence.

Jones made his Liverpool first-team debut in the 2018/19 season and went on to make 228 appearances for the club, scoring 22 goals. He won two Premier League titles, two Carabao Cups, the FA Cup and the Club World Cup at Anfield, and was a beaten finalist in the 2022 Champions League final.
