Cunha Screamer Stuns Leaders as Man Utd Edge Five-Goal Thriller at the Emirates

ยท Match Report

Matheus Cunha delivered a spectacular 87th-minute winner as Manchester United shocked Premier League leaders Arsenal with a 3-2 victory at a stunned Emirates Stadium. The substitute curled a magnificent strike into the corner from 25 yards, just when it seemed the hosts might complete a late turnaround of their own.

Arsenal had led through a Lisandro Martinez own goal from Martin Odegaards cross-shot, only to see their advantage erased by Bryan Mbeumo after a costly error from Martin Zubimendi. Patrick Dorgu then crashed in a superb effort off the bar to turn the game on its head for United, before Mikel Merino prodded in from a Bukayo Saka corner to level again. But Cunhas stunning strike, three minutes after that equaliser, ensured Michael Carricks side left north London with a statement Premier League win.

Arsenal Strike First but Allow United Back In

Arsenals breakthrough arrived when Odegaard found space and fizzed a cross-shot into the Manchester United area. The delivery was dangerous but should have been manageable, only for Martinez to divert the ball into his own net as he tried to deal with it, leaving David Rayas opposite number helpless and the league leaders apparently in control.
