Cunha's deflected equaliser rescues United after Martínez own goal at Fulham

· Match Report

Matheus Cunha's heavily deflected shot in the 88th minute gave Manchester United a 1-1 draw at Fulham on Sunday, rescuing a point that looked beyond them after Lisandro Martínez turned the ball into his own net in the 62nd minute.

It was a result that eased the pressure on Michael Carrick without lifting it. United had lost the Manchester derby the previous Sunday and gone out of the Carabao Cup at home to Brighton in midweek, and a third defeat in a week was a real possibility until late on. Fulham, who began the day bottom of the table, were left to rue a first Premier League win under Álvaro Arbeloa that slipped away.

United stay 12th on five points, ten behind leaders Manchester City, while Fulham are 19th on two points, one place above Tottenham. Five points from five games is the joint-fewest United have collected at this stage of a Premier League season, matching the 2014-15 campaign, and they have now gone three league games without a win.
