Shrewsbury Town began life after Michael Appleton with a spirited goalless draw against Barnet, as Gavin Cowan's first game at the helm saw the relegation-threatened Shrews move three points clear of the drop zone.
Play-off chasing Barnet had the better of the chances but were made to rue their wastefulness in front of goal, with Shrewsbury goalkeeper Matt Cox the standout figure on the day.

The Brentford loanee made a trio of saves in the first half, twice keeping out Nnamdi Ofoborh before denying Ryan Glover with what proved to be the save of the game.
