Sky Blues Start on the Front Foot
Coventry, who finished 16 places above Hull in last season's Championship, immediately looked to impose themselves. Within three minutes Sakamoto came close, bending a low shot narrowly wide of Pandur's far post from just outside the area after neat build-up around the box. That early scare set the tone as Lampard's side repeatedly pinned Hull back, moving the ball crisply through Victor Torp and Jay Dasilva and probing for gaps around the visitors' penalty area.
