Coughlan and Loupalo-Bi send Fleetwood past Shrewsbury

· Match Report

Fleetwood Town beat Shrewsbury Town 2-0 at Highbury Stadium, Ronan Coughlan scoring before half-time and substitute Aaron Loupalo-Bi adding a deflected second late on to stretch the Cod Army's unbeaten start to the season to six games in all competitions, five of them in League Two.

Shrewsbury, who arrived having lost three of their opening four league games, left with a fourth defeat in five.

A Quiet Opening, Then a Gift

There was little to see in the opening exchanges. The one effort of note was a powerful shot from outside the area by Josh Davison, which Jay Lynch gathered comfortably in the Fleetwood goal. Luca Hoole and Sam Stubbs were both booked for fouls by the 31st minute as the game struggled for rhythm.
