Exeter City made it five home wins in a row in League One with a comfortable 3-0 success against Stevenage, a result that flattered the visitors given the one-way nature of the contest.
Reece Cole was at the heart of everything good for the hosts, while debutants and a first goal for Ethan Brierley added gloss to an afternoon in which Stevenage, boasting the best defence in League One, were totally outplayed.
Cole Threatens Before the Breakthrough
After 10 minutes of stalemate, Cole signalled Exeter's intent with an instinctive volley from the edge of the penalty box that flew wide. Moments later the midfielder rounded goalkeeper Taye Ashby-Hammond but scuffed his shot towards an empty goal, allowing Stevenage to scramble back and clear.
