Stockport County moved top of League One with a fourth consecutive win after a comfortable 3-0 victory at Port Vale. Nathan Lowe, Kyle Wootton and Jack Diamond all found the net in the space of 16 first-half minutes to send Dave Challinor's side from fourth place to two points clear at the summit.
For Port Vale, the defeat leaves them in the relegation zone, two points away from safety, and unable to find an answer to a ruthless first-half display from the visitors.
Three in Sixteen Minutes
The visitors opened the scoring in the 13th minute, Stoke loan striker Lowe nodding home from Tyler Onyango's cross for his second goal in as many games. Ten minutes later, Wootton's precise finish from the edge of the box doubled the Hatters' advantage and took his league tally for the season to six.
