Bolton Wanderers lost for the first time since the opening day of the season as they were beaten 2-0 by Northampton Town at Sixfields. Wanderers missed a couple of early chances and were punished when Cameron McGeehan and Sam Hoskins struck in quick succession to make it four wins in five for Kevin Nolan's side.
A bright start from the visitors went unrewarded, and once Northampton found their footing the hosts grew in confidence before two goals in the space of four minutes settled the contest.
Wasteful Visitors Punished
Marcus Forss was denied at close range inside the first 10 minutes before Mason Burstow missed the target altogether when he only had Ross Fitzsimons to beat. The away side struggled to maintain their early momentum after those missed opportunities.
