Chinedu's late strike sends Harrogate down as Barnet win at the Exercise Stadium

· Match Report

Harrogate Town have been relegated to the National League after six seasons in League Two following a 2-1 defeat to Barnet on a dramatic final afternoon of the season at a sold-out Exercise Stadium.

Substitute Phillip Chinedu's 82nd-minute winner, scored with his first touch of the game, sealed the Sulphurites' fate and lifted Barnet to an eighth-place finish on 76 points.

Nightmare opening

Harrogate got off to the worst possible start when an underhit back-pass by Cathal Heffernan sent Kabongo Tshimanga clear. The Congolese striker rounded keeper Mark Oxley before squaring for Callum Stead, who tucked away his eighth goal in five outings inside the opening five minutes.
