Charlton Athletic have signed the Kenya international midfielder Timothy Ouma on a season-long loan from Slavia Prague, with an option to make the move permanent at the end of the deal.
The 22-year-old becomes the seventh addition of Charlton's summer transfer window, following the arrivals of defenders Ivan Mesik, Billy Koumetio and Danny McNamara, midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah, winger Millenic Alli and striker Karlan Grant.
Manager Nathan Jones said the club had tracked Ouma for a long time. "Timothy is a player that we've monitored for a long, long time, and he comes with a real good pedigree," Jones told Charlton's official website. "He's an athletic, technical midfield player who has had some good experience, and he'll add real quality to our midfield."
Ouma began his career with Nairobi City Stars in Kenya before joining Swedish top-flight side IF Elfsborg in the summer of 2022. He spent three seasons in Sweden, making 13 Europa League appearances, before signing for Slavia Prague. Last season he went out on loan in Poland with Lech Poznan, where he won the league title.
