Charlie Caton scored twice as Accrington Stanley beat Crawley Town 3-2 in League Two on 5 September, collecting their first win of the 2026-27 campaign. The double took the striker's tally to four goals for the season.
Crawley had 64 per cent of the ball and 15 attempts to Accrington's 11, but the home side scored three times from fewer chances and were still ahead when Pemi Aderoju pulled a goal back for the visitors in the 78th minute.
Caton Strikes Early, Orsi Levels
Accrington were in front in the 3rd minute. Caton picked the ball up at the edge of the six-yard box and sent a shot into the roof of the net. Crawley worked their way back into it and drew level in the 19th minute, Danilo Orsi reaching a loose ball in the area and scoring from close range.
