Casey's header gives managerless Wycombe victory at Wigan

· Match Report

Dan Casey headed in the only goal of the game as managerless Wycombe Wanderers won 1-0 at Wigan Athletic in League One on 19 September, leaving the hosts bottom of the table.

Casey converted from close range in the 67th minute after Cauley Woodrow, on as a second-half substitute, created the chance. Wigan, who made five changes of their own after the break, could not find an answer.

A Tribute and a Quiet First Half

The afternoon began with a minute's applause for Kevin Miller, Wigan's goalkeeping coach, who died this week aged 57. Wycombe's Jayden Wareham, who worked with Miller at Exeter last season, laid a wreath behind one of the goals.
