Cardiff City have brought in centre-half Krystian Bielik on a permanent transfer from fellow Championship side West Bromwich Albion. The defender has put pen to a three-year deal with the Bluebirds, for a fee neither club has disclosed.
"I'm very excited, I'm finally here and I couldn't be happier," Bielik said. "I'm looking forward to starting with the team as soon as possible and focusing on the first game."
The 28-year-old Poland international turned out for West Brom in the Championship last term as the club scraped clear of relegation to League One, finishing 21st. He started out at Legia Warsaw, moved to Arsenal in 2015, then had spells at Birmingham City, Walsall, Charlton Athletic and Derby County ahead of a switch to West Brom last summer. The move makes him Cardiff's fourth new senior face of the summer, joining goalkeeper Nathan Trott, midfielder Jack Moylan and returning loanee left-back Calum Scanlon, who is back in south Wales from Liverpool.
"I've played a few times against Cardiff City, and it's never been an easy place to come to," Bielik added. "It's always got a great atmosphere, so it will be a pleasure to be here playing for this club."
