Tom Cannon struck against his former club as Sheffield United produced another dominant display to beat Leicester City 3-1 at Bramall Lane and move further clear of the Championship relegation zone. Japhet Tanganga's first goal for the club and Callum O'Hare's late third put Chris Wilder's side in complete control before Jordan James' deflected stoppage-time strike denied goalkeeper Michael Cooper a clean sheet.
The result opened up an eight-point cushion between the Blades and the bottom three and lifted them to 15th in the table, two points and two places behind a Leicester team that have now lost three of their last four games under Marti Cifuentes. Just five weeks after racing into a 3-0 lead on their way to a 3-2 victory at the King Power Stadium, United again surged clear of the Foxes, this time in front of their own fans, with man-of-the-match Andre Brooks central to much of their best work.
Relentless Blades pressure finally brings reward
From the opening minutes, United played with the intensity Wilder has been demanding, immediately targeting the space down Leicester's left. Brooks and Femi Seriki repeatedly found joy on the right flank, with Brooks cutting inside to create two early chances for Patrick Bamford that forced saves from visiting goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk.
