Jack Marriott's 17th goal of the season looked set to give Reading victory at the SCL Stadium, but Bolton Wanderers refused to accept defeat and snatched a 1-1 draw when Burstow pounced in the sixth minute of added time.
Reading led at the break through Marriott's first-half finish, only for the visitors to dominate almost all of the second period and earn a deserved leveller deep into stoppage time.
An Open and Eventful First Half
Bolton could have gone ahead within the opening minute when Johnny Kenny escaped the static home defence, but with only Joel Pereira to beat he drove straight at the Royals goalkeeper. Reading replied strongly, with keeper Jack Bonham having to backpedal furiously to claw away a long-range attempt from Lewis Wing.
