Queens Park Rangers continued their impressive revival on the road with a 1-0 victory over 10-man Swansea City, as Rumarn Burrell's first-half volley and Malick Yalcouye's red card proved decisive in a tense Championship contest in Swansea.
Burrell struck in the 18th minute from Isaac Hayden's chipped cross before teenage Swansea midfielder Yalcouye was dismissed for violent conduct after a clash with Steve Cook just after the half-hour. QPR then created enough chances to kill the game but had to survive a spirited 10-man fightback and a stoppage-time scare, with Paul Nardi thwarting substitute Zan Vipotnik, to climb to eighth in the table, while Swansea slipped to 16th, now winless in five home league matches and with only one victory in seven league games.

QPR's threat on the counter-attack was evident long before the decisive goal. Rumarn Burrell repeatedly found space in behind Swansea's back line, and when the hosts failed to clear one early attack the ball broke to Nicolas Madsen, whose driven effort was beaten away by Lawrence Vigouroux in the home goal.
