Bromley have signed the goalkeeper Owen Mason from Mansfield Town for an undisclosed fee. The 22-year-old has been capped by the Republic of Ireland at youth level.
Mason made his Mansfield debut in the 2024-25 season and has since gathered senior experience out on loan, with spells at Guiseley, Farsley Celtic, Wexford, Gateshead and Southend. He arrives at Bromley straight from an emergency loan at Gillingham, for whom he played in last weekend's Carabao Cup defeat by Luton.
The move comes on the same day Mansfield handed a new contract, running to 2028, to their first-choice goalkeeper Liam Roberts, who made 48 appearances and kept 14 clean sheets last season to be voted both the players' player of the season and the supporters' player of the season. Mansfield had already turned to the experienced Harry Lewis, signed from Carlisle United in January, for senior back-up while Mason and fellow young goalkeeper Anthony Nunez were out on loan at non-league level.
Bromley, promoted to League One as League Two champions last season, had already strengthened their goalkeeping department over the summer, signing Shamal George on a free transfer in July as part of a triple signing that also brought in the defenders Jacob Mendy and Chanse Headman.
