Brian Brobbey's spectacular second-half finish secured a 2-1 comeback win for Sunderland over Crystal Palace at the Stadium of Light, stretching the Black Cats' unbeaten Premier League home run to 11 matches and piling further misery on an already bruised visiting club.
Yéremy Pino had given Palace a deserved first-half lead after a bright opening spell from the visitors, but Enzo Le Fée levelled within three minutes from Nordi Mukiele's low cross, before Brobbey pounced midway through the second period, lifting Noah Sadiki's pass in off the underside of the crossbar for his fourth league goal of the campaign.
The result ends Sunderland's five-match winless run in the league and lifts Regis Le Bris' side above Newcastle into the top half, only three points off the top four, while Palace's winless sequence in all competitions now stretches to 10 games at the end of a week that has brought an FA Cup humiliation, confirmation of Oliver Glasner's imminent departure and the looming sale of club captain Marc Guéhi to Manchester City.
