Brighton and Hove Albion delivered a performance of contrasting qualities to beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 at the City Ground, climbing to fifth in the Premier League and exacting revenge for last season's 7-0 humiliation on the same ground. Maxim De Cuyper struck in first-half stoppage time before teenage substitute Stefanos Tzimas pounced late on, ending Forest's five-game unbeaten run in all competitions under Sean Dyche.
For 20 minutes Brighton played some of the best football of their season, swarming all over a passive Forest and racking up a flurry of attempts that somehow stayed out. Yet after surviving that onslaught, Forest wrestled back control for long spells, especially after the interval, only to be floored first by De Cuyper's clinical finish and then Tzimas's 88th-minute strike after a defensive error by Morato. The result, Brighton's third win in four league games and only their second away victory of the campaign, leaves Dyche's side still just a point above the relegation zone in 16th.
