Burton Albion ended a three-game losing run in the league with a stunning 3-1 win over promotion-chasing Huddersfield Town. Terence Vancooten, Jake Beesley and JJ McKiernan secured a precious victory as the Brewers marked 750 games in the EFL by lifting themselves out of the bottom four.
Albion struck early, weathered Huddersfield's response and then pulled clear after the break, while the Terriers' hopes of preserving their status as the division's leading scorers were undone by a clinical hosts' display.
An Early Strike Sets the Tone
Albion grabbed the lead in the fourth minute. A foul on Beesley gave Dylan Williams the chance to curl in a free-kick, and Vancooten glanced it into the far corner of the goal to mark his 200th EFL start.
