Brenden Aaronson has signed a new three-year contract to stay at Leeds United, the club announced on Thursday. The United States international, 25, first arrived at Leeds in 2022, having made his professional debut with the Philadelphia Union in Major League Soccer and then spent the 2021-22 season at RB Salzburg.
"Everyone at Leeds United is thrilled Brenden has extended his stay with the club ahead of our opening league fixture this weekend against Nottingham Forest," the club said in a statement. "We now look forward to seeing him continue to impress at Elland Road and away from home over the years to come."
Aaronson's time at Leeds has not always run smoothly. He left on loan for Union Berlin in the Bundesliga after the club's relegation from the Premier League in 2023, then returned for the 2024-25 season and was part of the Leeds side that won the Championship title with 100 points to earn an immediate return to the top flight.
He kept his place through Leeds' first season back in the Premier League, contributing four goals and five assists in 37 appearances in 2025-26. He has carried that form into preseason, scoring in friendlies against both Liverpool and Manchester United.
