Shrewsbury Town beat Salford City 1-0 in League Two at The Croud Meadow on Saturday, Will Boyle's 73rd-minute strike settling it despite Salford having the better of the ball.
Salford held 62% possession to Shrewsbury's 38% and had 14 attempts on goal to the hosts' eight, but managed only one shot on target against Shrewsbury's two, and it was Shrewsbury who scored. Shrewsbury also won more corners, five to Salford's three, though they conceded more fouls, 13 to 11.
Tom Anderson was the only player booked, cautioned in the 85th minute for time-wasting; there were no red cards.
Salford made three changes together just after the hour, sending on Taylor Allen, Kallum Cesay and Ryan Graydon in the 60th minute, and two more late on. Shrewsbury used their bench twice, the second change, George Lloyd for Josh Davison, coming in the 83rd minute.
