Lee Bonis and Dilan Markanday scored in the second half as Chesterfield beat York City 2-0 in League Two on 19 September. Bonis broke the deadlock in the 56th minute and Markanday sealed the win in the 96th.
The hosts could have won by a wider margin, as the woodwork denied them three times after the break. York's Jeff King hit the underside of the crossbar with a shot that bounced on the line and was cleared.
Marsh Hits the Post Before Bonis Breaks Through
Bonis put an effort over the bar for the hosts, and towards the end of the first half Louie Marsh tested Alfie McNally, who had to block. After the restart, Josh Koroma got in the way of a McNally clearance and the loose ball ran to Markanday, whose shot from the edge of the box missed the target.
