Lincoln City won 1-0 away at Bolton Wanderers in Championship matchday three, holding out at the Toughsheet Community Stadium despite finishing with barely a third of the possession.
The game's only goal came from Ben House, who converted in the 65th minute for what proved to be Lincoln's second-half winner.
Bolton dominated the underlying numbers without reward: 68.3% possession to Lincoln's 31.7%, 21 shots to eight (six on target to two), and 14 corners to two, while conceding far fewer fouls, six to Lincoln's 15.
All three cautions of the afternoon went Lincoln's way: House himself was booked for simulation in the 29th minute, Ivan Varfolomeev for time-wasting in the 78th, and Conor McGrandles for a foul deep into stoppage time, in the 92nd. Bolton finished the match without a single yellow or red card.
