Bolton Wanderers have signed the striker Ryan Hardie on a season-long loan from Wrexham, reuniting him with manager Steven Schumacher for the first time since their League One title-winning campaign together at Plymouth Argyle in 2022-23.
The 29-year-old had made just 10 appearances for Wrexham since arriving from Plymouth in the summer of 2025. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Huddersfield Town, scoring twice in six games, and missed part of Wrexham's pre-season through injury, which ruled him out of the club's tour to the United States.
"He was one of the reasons I went to Plymouth and one of the reasons why I did so well there," Hardie told Bolton's club website. "We've had promotions together and we've done well in the Championship at parts before he left. So, yeah, he's a massive part in it and I'm looking forward to working with him again."
Hardie began his career at Rangers before a prolific spell with Plymouth, scoring 74 goals across two loan spells and a permanent stint at the club between 2020 and 2025. He has also won caps for Scotland at Under-21 level.
