Blackpool have signed the defender Finley Munroe on a season-long loan from Middlesbrough, the League One club's fifth signing of the summer transfer window.
Munroe, 21, can play as a left-back or in central defence. He joined Middlesbrough from Aston Villa in January on a four-and-a-half-year contract, in a deal worth around £300,000 that included a 30 percent sell-on clause for Villa.
Before that move, Munroe had spent the first half of last season on loan at League Two side Swindon Town, making 23 appearances and scoring twice under the manager Ian Holloway.
He came through Chelsea's academy before joining Villa in 2021, and made two senior appearances for the club: as a substitute in the Europa Conference League semi-final defeat at Olympiakos, and coming on in the Premier League against Crystal Palace in May 2024. He also spent a season on loan at Real Union, Villa's sister club in Spain.
