Portsmouth came from behind to draw 1-1 with West Bromwich Albion, as Colby Bishop's second-half header and Ryan Mason's touchline red card combined to end Albion's perfect start to the Championship season. Portsmouth had the better of the early chances before Johnston's long-range rocket swung the momentum towards the hosts, who then struck the woodwork through Alex Mowatt and looked in control either side of the interval. Yet Bishop's equaliser arrived against the run of play, and a chaotic spell featuring two denied penalty appeals for Aune Heggebo and Mason's dismissal for dissent meant the points were shared instead of Albion moving top with a third straight league win.
