In a meeting of two in-form sides on the fringe of the play-offs, Leeds United loanee Joe Gelhardt had fired Hull in front in the opening minute of the second half with his third goal in as many matches, and for long spells the hosts appeared in control before Charlton's late surge forced a share of the points.
Charlton started brightly and might have been two goals up inside the opening minutes, only for Ivor Pandur to stand firm, while Hull gradually wrestled control before being punished for failing to find a decisive second goal and switching off at a final set piece.
