Barnet went top of League Two with a 3-1 win over Fleetwood Town at the Hive, scoring twice in two minutes after the break through Charlie Lakin and Idris Kanu to extend their unbeaten league start to the season.
Kabongo Tshimanga had given the hosts the lead from the penalty spot in the ninth minute and Will Davies levelled in the 35th, but Barnet pulled clear and then held on with ten men after Nnamdi Ofoborh was sent off in the 84th minute. They did it with 43% of the possession.
Tshimanga Wins and Converts the Penalty
Fleetwood arrived three days after a 1-0 League Cup win over Sheffield United, and made the brighter start, Lewis McCann forcing Matthew Cox into a save that turned the ball over the bar. Barnet, who had beaten Accrington Stanley 2-1 a week earlier, answered when Cox sent a long ball forward and Tshimanga collected it and rounded Jay Lynch, only for Adam Murphy to clear his effort off the line.
