Barnet began their League Two season with a 3-1 win over Salford City at the Hive Stadium, the opening fixture of the 2026/27 campaign. Oisín Gallagher opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, turning in a Kabongo Tshimanga assist, and Charlie Lakin doubled Barnet's lead in the 41st minute. Tshimanga added a third himself in the 86th minute, converting a Nnamdi Ofoborh assist, before Adebola Oluwo pulled one back for Salford in the 89th minute, finishing off a Joe Powell pass.
Barnet had the better of the underlying numbers, out-shooting Salford 20 to 14 with eight shots on target to three and winning six corners to five, despite having less of the ball on 46% possession to Salford's 54%.
Five yellow cards were shown and no player was sent off. Salford's Oliver Turton, Joe Powell and Luke Molyneux were each booked, as were Barnet's Zac Williams and Oisín Gallagher.
