Femi Azeez came off the bench to steer Millwall to a tense 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday at The Den, reviving the Lions' Championship promotion push after a stuttering run. The substitute was introduced in the second half and needed only ten minutes to glance in Alfie Doughty's cross for his fifth goal in six appearances, lifting Alex Neil's side up to fourth in the table.
Rock-bottom Wednesday, now 20 points from safety, produced a spirited response to their derby humiliation against Sheffield United and twice struck the frame of the goal through Charlie McNeill and Jamal Lowe. Millwall dominated large spells after the interval but were never comfortable, and could easily have been punished for their wastefulness in front of goal.
Stubborn Wednesday Frustrate an Anxious Den
